Earlier this year we commenced a process to find our Charity of the Year 2016. The votes came flooding in. After an incredibly close-fought vote, which was miraculously tied after several weeks of voting, Chelsea’s Angels was eventually separated as the winner, after a final surge of votes.
We’ve been delighted to be able to support Chelsea’s Angels this year. We’ve donated items earlier in the year for gift boxes and took part in their fun day in September to help raise funds. As Christmas approached, we said we’d help raise more items and selection boxes to gift children of families where there may me a sibling suffering with cancer.
We also pledged to donate £1 for every mortgage we sold in 2016. We’re pleased to be able to support Chelsea’s Angels with a donation of £1500. We hope this money will help to fund some Christmas activities that we know Chelsea’s Angels will be getting involved with, supporting families at what can be a difficult time of year.
The team at Chelsea’s Angels gave us this lovely feedback: “Thank you for supporting Chelsea angels over the year. We are a small team and really appreciate the support of others because without companies like Grange Mortgages we wouldn’t be able to help lots more children fighting cancer. Your donations of care pack items is a huge help too, as it means we don’t need to use charity funds to make the project work. We’re truly thankful for everything you’ve done, even going out of your way and giving up your time to help at our fun day was great and helped a lot. Thanks to everyone for their amazing support.”
Daniel Mumford, Director at Grange Mortgages, said: “It’s been really wonderful to support Chelsea’s Angels through 2016. Even with the amount of support the charity had in being voted our Charity of the Year 2016, it’s clear to see what a difference items like the gift boxes make to families of young children. And it’s great to present the cheque, knowing that the funds will be going to those who really need it.”
We’re proud to have supported Chelsea’s Angels in 2016. Look out for more charitable work by the Grange team in 2017!
