Earlier in the year Grange Mortgages was proud to announce that Chelsea’s Angels would be the Charity of the Year partner for 2016. We were very excited at the prospect of supporting the local charity and couldn’t wait to meet the team; however, Director, Daniel Mumford, suffered a broken leg not long after we made the announcement, making it difficult to meet with the charity and set out the year’s plans. We’re pleased to say that Daniel is making good progress with his recovery and we were able to meet with the team behind Chelsea’s Angels at the end of April.
We learnt a huge amount about the tremendous work the charity has been involved with to date, and we discussed how Grange Mortgages can get involved in events during the course of 2016 with Chelsea’s Angels, to help make a difference. Grange Mortgages has already pledged to donate £1 for every mortgage completed in 2016, but whilst we learnt that the money is very helpful, we also appreciated the value of having an extra pair of hands (or several extra pairs) in helping to organise events and raise funds.
The Grange Mortgages team will be getting involved with Chelsea’s Angels at an annual event this September. September is childhood cancer awareness month and so it’s a great time to raise much-needed funds and awareness. We also talked about how the team at Grange Mortgages can create gift boxes around Christmas time that can be sent to children and the families of children who are spending time in hospital during the festive period. Chelsea’s Angels were able to relay to us some of the challenges that both the children and the families would face in hospital, particularly during out-of-hours emergencies. Having access to simple things like toiletries, snacks, games and magazines helps to make the experiences in hospital for families a little easier. We look forward to creating some boxes later in the year that can be shared with children and their families in the hospital that Chelsea would often visit for treatment.
